in-PharmaTechnologist.com presents its latest round up of executive moves in the pharma sector, including appointments at Sanofi, Amylin, Lophius Biosciences, Lophius, Adventrx, BioSante and Medicure.
Sanofi has named Anne Whitaker as president of its North American Operations. Whitaker joins Sanofi from UK drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) where she served as VP and business unit head, Cardiovascular, Metabolic and Urology.
Sanofi has also announced that Greg Irace, current CEO of its operations in the US, will become senior VP of global services.
Robert Mackay has been appointed as general manager by US based drugmaker Amylin Pharmaceuticals. MacKay has worked in the pharmaceutical sector for 30 years, most recently at Eli Lilly.
German biotechnology company Lophius Biosciences has reorganised its board with several senior appointments.
The firm has named: Sabine Wahllander as head of sales and marketing; Marcus Hammerle as head of technical operations; Karl Kleine as head of quality management; Kornelia Schlombs as scientific project manager for molecular biology; and Sascha Barabas as scientific project manager for cell biology and immunology.
Adventrx Pharmaceuticals has appointed Gregory Gorgas as senior VP of commercial operations. Gorgas previously worked at Biogen Idec where he led global marketing for the firm’s oncology franchise.
BioSante Pharmaceuticals has named Sandra Croak-Brossman as VP of regulatory affairs and QA and Patricia Adams as VP of human resources.
Croak-Brossman’s work experience includes positions at Boehringer Ingelheim, Pfizer and Abbott Laboratories. Adams has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry most recently at H. Lundbeck.
Medicure has named Dawson Reimer as president and COO. Reimer has worked with Medicure since 1997 and has served in the capacity of Vice President, Operations since June 2004.
