The firm said that – for the three months ended January 31 – revenue generated by the division – which supplies active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), intermediates and chemicals used in pharmaceutical research - grew 15 per cent to £62m (€74.8m).
Johnson said that: “The Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing businesses performed well aided by sales of a new API for the treatment of drug addiction,” but did not go into details.
The UK-headquartered company has been involved in anti-addition APIs for a number of years, significantly expanding its efforts in the field through its 2010 agreement with Aoxing Pharma .
