C4C sets up cell therapy factory in France
A group combining government agencies and biotechnology firms have established what it claims is the first cell therapy development facility in France.

The organisation – the C4C consortium – say the facility in Les Ulis, near the capital Paris, is intended as a development and production hub for the scale up and commercialisation of cell therapies.

Academic, public- and private-sector stakeholders are provided with an industrial tool for producing both their Phase III clinical trial batches and commercial batches.”

LFB Biotechnologies’ CellforCure subsidiary is coordinating the project, which brings together experts from biotech firms Celogos and CleanCells as well as researchers from various Universities and government agencies.

C4C members have stumped up €80m ($104m) to fund the project and OSEO - France's state innovation agency - contributed €30m.
