New studies on the use of Candurin® pearl effect colors in pharmaceutical film coatings were conducted by Merck KGaA of Darmstadt, Germany.
According to the results, Candurin® did not exhibit any negative influence on the coating functionality, such as disintegration time or controlled release. In addition to these findings, a protective function for a soluble colorant was noted when Candurin® was used in top-coatings
