For over a decade, sinkers of various designs have been used in Apparatus II (Paddle) dissolution, for the primary purpose of solving the issue of product buoyancy. However, in more recent years, we have seen the application of sinkers to products with coatings that can cause them to stick the sides of the dissolution vessel, or to the paddles, and thereby alter the expected dissolution profile. In response to this increased demand, SOTAX has recently announced a modification to their existing sinker retrieval platform for the MultiDose G3, both to increase the reliability of the system and to expand the range of compatible sinker types.
