Advantose™ 100 - Direct Compression Tableting Excipient
High speed tablet and encapsulating equipment requires materials that flow easily, compact robustly, and that minimize weight variation to ensure content uniformity. Added to USP/NF in 2004, Advantose™ 100 was designed specifically with high speed pharmaceutical manufacturing in mind.
Advantose™ 100, with its consistent uniform spray dried particle is quickly being recognized by pharmaceutical formulators world wide as having exceptional flow and compaction properties. In addition, because Advantose™ 100 is highly soluble, it has been shown to reduce disintegration times without additional disintegrants when substituted for MCC, Lactose, and DCP. Produced from natural grain, Advantose™ 100 is BSE and TSE free.
Unlike most other tablet binders, Advantose™ 100 has an enhancing synergistic effect when used in combination with other excipients such as MCC and Mannitol, to improve tablet or capsule slug performance compared to those excipients alone. Because of its exceptional flow properties, it often eliminates the need for the additional flow aides.
