Germany's Erweka has introduced a new dissolution tester that it says is more accurate and easy to use than rival products.
The Offline Dissolution System, used alongside the Erweka Auto-Sampler, allows scientists for the first time to collect high precision samples and dilute them automatically using only one syringe pump. Fresh media can be added automatically to replace the sample taken out of the test vessel.
An eight-channel glass-syringe pump ensures that dosage accuracy is accurate to within 0.1ml, according to the company. For analysis the collected samples are manually taken from the fraction collector and passed over to the analyser.
"The advantage of this method is that the customer may use any analysis system already available in the laboratory," said the company in a statement. Optionally the system can be upgraded and connected to a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, software and PC for automatic sample analysis.
