German investment group Aurelius AG has acquired French fine chemicals supplier Isochem from state owned firm Groupe SNPE.

Paris-based Isochem makes fine chemicals and phosgene derivatives for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, agrochemicals and intermediates industries and generates revenues of around €113m a year.

Isochem has a manufacturing network consisting of four facilities in France, one in Kazincbarcika, Hungary, and is also represented in the US, Great Britain and Germany.

SNPE CEO Antoine Gendry said that: “Aurelius is a strong and serious partner for the successful future Isochem.

Aurelius said its new acquisition has considerable opportunities for growth in new markets and by developing new products, technologies and customer-specific solutions.

The Munich-based group added that it “plans to intensify [Isochem’s] international distribution especially in the US and in Eastern Europe and to improve all operational processes.”
