US drugmaker Bristol-Myers Squibb will close its QC facility in Evansville, Indiana by the end of the year according to reports in the local media.
The closure, which was reported by the Evansville Courier & Press, will result in the loss of 79 jobs. As well as quality control (QC) functions the site houses technical operations units, several research groups and a distribution centre,
The move was detailed in a letter the facilities general manager Bill Mitchell sent to Indiana’s “Dislocated Worker Program” earlier this month. B-MS will also shed 34 jobs from its manufacturing facility in nearby Mount Vernon.
