Last week, US pharmaceuticals giant Pfizer agreed to pay $2.3bn to resolve criminal and civil liability relating to the off-label promotion of several of its drugs in what the Department of Justice called the largest fraud settlement in its history.
Part of the record payout, approximately $333m, will be split between State Medicare and Medicaid programmes nationwide. Florida, Texas and California lead the field receiving $58m, $15m and $34m, respectively.
in-PharmaTechnologist has scoured the internet to track down the latest available totals, which are presented in the map below.
Despite our best efforts settlement data for some States proved elusive, so in-PharmaTechnologist would like to ask our US readers to help complete the picture. If you know how much your State’s Medicare and Medicaid programmes will receive please let us know.
