Animas has recalled several of its insulin pumps and glucose management systems on concerns that some cap units used by the products are not maintaining contact with the battery compartment.
The firm, which is part of Johnson & Johnson, is recalling all 2020 Insulin Pumps shipped between June 16 and July 19, all IR 1200 and IR 1250 Pumps between June 16 and August 1 as well as its OneTouch Ping Glucose Management Systems shipped before August 1 this year.
In a letter published on its website Animas said that the faulty connection may cause the units to lose power, interrupting its delivery of insulin.
