Turkey’s pharmaceutical sector has signed up to the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, which promotes 10 principles related to areas including human rights, the environment and corruption.

A total of 33 Turkish pharma companies have signed up the Global Compact. The move makes the Turkish pharma industry the first sector to join the Global Compact as a group. It is hoped that joining as a sector will drive adoption of common sustainable approaches.

Detailed in the UN Global Compact are 10 principles which aim to give companies a core set of values in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment, and anti-corruption.
