The Sierra Leone Pharmacy Board has destroyed over $400,000 worth of counterfeit drugs in its attempts to cleanse the nation of the problem, according to Awoko.
A report by Awoko, an independent Sierra Leonean newspaper, said that the Pharmacy Board has been performing routine inspections of pharmacies.
This has led to an upturn in the levels of counterfeits seized but a Pharmacy Board official acknowledged that porous borders hindered efforts to stamp out their presence.
