P-series central receivers redesigned
Premier Pneumatics has redesigned its P-series central receivers to improve their handling of powders, poor flowing powders, and fragile materials.
The P-series was designed to provide a custom solution for difficult conveying applications. Following the redesign extension modules have been introduced to increase the receiving volume of bulk materials, according to Premier.
Premier says a new sealing and earthing feature has been added and that the system is now more user-friendly. It is also said to be easier to disassemble and clean.
The machine is constructed from stainless steel and is compliant with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) sanitary requirements. It is available with a bead blast, satin or mirror polished finish.
Three models are available: the P10 (10 litre capacity); the P30 (30 litre capacity); and the P100 (100 litre capacity).
GE’s new genderless DAC
GE Healthcare has launched ReadyMate, its new genderless disposable aseptic connectors (DAC) for biopharmaceutical production.
ReadyMate connects assembly components such as media bags and tubing for upstream and downstream applications. It is a safer, more economic and simpler connection, according to GE.
GE claims the connector decreases parts inventories and eliminates the need for specialised equipment, servicing, calibration or unique operator skills, reducing the complexity of biopharmaceutical production.
The connector has a validated closure mechanism and is available in tube sizes from 6.4 to 19.1mm, allowing for optimisation of the fluid flow path.
ReadyMate is GMP compliant and can be gamma sterilised or autoclaved. GE acquired exclusive marketing rights for the technology from BioQuate to expand its ReadyToProcess portfolio of ready-to-use products.
WaterSep launches hollow fibre cartridges
WaterSep has used it propriety membrane technology in a line of application specific, high-capacity, anti-fouling UF and MF hollow fibre cartridges.
The membrane combines a modified polyethersulfone (PES) and a proprietary spinning process to offer enhanced product yields, higher sustained process flow and longer service life, according to WaterSep.
Cell clarification in primary recovery, vaccine purification and concentration and macromolecule concentration and diafiltration are listed as applications for the cartridges.
There are three different cartridge models covering laboratory scale volumes up to large scale product batches of several hundred litres. Each model is available in lengths of 30.5cm, 61cm and 104cm.
