Brazilian drugmaker Germed Pharmaceuticals has voluntarily recalled batch of the drug cyclosporine.
The move announced on Brazil’s National Health and Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) yesterday relates to “431,622 batch of the drug Cyclosporine 25 mg Cap Soft Gel w / Mcemu Ct Bl Al / Al X 50“ that were made in February and due to expire in 2014.
Anvisa said that the affected “product should not be consumed or marketed.”
The agency did not disclose what prompted the recall of the product – an immunosuppressant used in a wide range of applications – other than to say that Germed cited a quality deviation.
