The Goring Kerr DSP Rx has been specifically designed to screen pills and capsules at the outfeed of tablet presses and capsule filling machines in order to meet the quality control requirements of regulatory bodies. It is available in four aperture sizes and is adjustable to fit the height of the outfeed.

In order to make the unit comply as closely as possible with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines, all the pneumatics and cables are contained within the unit's stand to make it easier to clean the machine. In addition, all mounting bars have round profiles to remove risk of debris and bacteria traps.

Other key hygiene enhancements include the ability to operate the reject function remotely from within the metal detector's cabinet, according to Thermo. Also, the reject system and chute are removed easily for cleaning. All suspect product is diverted into an integral lockable reject container, which is also removable for cleaning.

The unit uses Thermo's AuditCheck self-monitoring system, which monitors its performance levels automatically and provide an alert if re-calibration is required. This eliminates the need for manual performance checks and, to prevent risk of dust build-up inside the AuditCheck tube, Thermo has now sealed the system within the search head.
