Mixquip, Microfluidics, Freeman Technology, Syrris, and UT-Hart Scientific have all recently launched products used in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Mixquip, a division of Teralba Industries, has launched the light-weight mixer Mixquip PT RUMMAGER.

The mixer incorporates Mixquip's high efficiency Superflo fold-out propeller, which is designed to provide vigorous mixing for all fluids up to 3,000cPs.

Easily moved from tank to tank, the mixer can also have its mixing intensity easily adjusted.

Microfluidics has introduced its portable M-110P Microfluidizer processor to enable the production of nano-suspensions and nano-emulsions, as well as liposomal encapsulation and cell disruption with the fewest number of passes.

The processor incorporates Microfluidics' fixed geometry diamond interaction chamber technology and ceramic plunger and allows flow rates between 110-155ml per minute at any process pressure.

The bench top lab machine requires no compressed air or cooling water and is designed to work efficiently at 30,000psi process pressure using a standard 20 amp, single phase household electrical outlet.

Each processor can be customised depending on specific formulation parameters and offers options for monitoring of several variables.

Freeman Technology is introducing its FT4 Powder Rheometer for the rapid and consistent characterisation of powders.

The product offers dynamic, shear and bulk property measurement in a single system and is a universal powder tester.

The company said the product can be used accurately to quantify the impact on powder behaviour of a range of factors including aeration, segregation, consolidation and composition.

Syrris has announced it has developed an improved version of its Lara reactor control software, 2.0 Lara control software, to help perform medicinal and process scale-up, scale-down or optimisation experiments.

The software can be used as a standalone package or with the Radleys Lara Controlled Lab Reactor and provides third party equipment control, automated data logging, graphing functions and post experimental analysis.

The improved version offers enhanced flexibility, expanding safety features, simple operation and direct access to editing parameters such as temperature, stirring speed and pump/additions rate while an experiment/recipe is running.

Meanwhile, UT-Hart Scientific, a division of Fluke Corporation, has introduced the model 5609 Secondary Reference Temperature Sensor as part of its line of high-temperature platinum resistance thermometers.

The 100-ohm sensor has a temperature range of -200degC to 670degC and is available in either one-quarter inch or six millimetre diameters, with sheath lengths of 12, 15 or 20 inches and 300, 400 or 500 millimetres respectively.
