When subjected to high pressures over a prolonged period of time clamps linking hoses to adapters can become displaced or the tightness of the seal can lessen.
Norres claims to have improved the situation with the launch of its new clamp, which uses a threaded sealing insert that is adapted to the outer hose contour.
This is assembled between the hose and the pressing sleeves, which are then pushed together to form a tight seal. An additional advantage of this system is that there are not any clearance spaces in the connections, according to Norres.
A high tensile strength is ensured by the system’s form-locking groove and bar, which the company claims will hold a hose in place under high pressures.
The clamp is available in sizes from 25mm up to 100mm and is compatible with Norres’ Airduc PUR 355 MHF. This hose meets the requirements for pharmaceutical applications detailed in EU Directive 2002/72/EC, including the most recent amendments.
Norres claims the hose is extremely flexible and resistant to abrasion and chemicals. The hose is marketed at those needing to transport powders or tablets.
Bringing the new product to market follows on from Norres’ launch of its clamp for hoses used in the loading and unloading of silo vehicles, which the company described as a “huge success”.
