The US firm will start trialling its bidirectional nasal delivery technology for the administration n of sumatriptan in people suffering from acute migraine without aura.
CEO Peter Miller said: "Based on our clinical study results to date, we are encouraged by the potential of the OptiNose technology and the significant impact it could have on patients with this debilitating condition."
The firm – which was founded in 2000 – has been working to mve the technology into Phase III trials since 2010 after it attracted $48.5m (€40m) investment from a private equity firm.
