Meeting the increasing demand from the regulatory bodies for validated disinfectant testing is a necessary step in the drug development process, however it is usually a time and labour consuming burden.
The new disinfectant service will support customers' validation and in-house testing requirements, enabling their internal resources to focus on core business activities, said Tepnel.
The firm will offer various types of tests such as basic entry-level suspension tests to assess the basic activity of the product, quantitative suspension tests, as well as advanced efficacy testing and field testing.
Using the European Committee of Normalisation (CEN) method 1216, Tepnel will work in partnership with customers to design and test their validation and protocol requirements in order to maximise their validation outcomes and product potential for bacterialcidal, virucidal, fungicidal and tuberculocidal disinfectants.
"The introduction of this new service further enhances the regulatory pharmaceutical services offered by Tepnel's Research and Services division," said the firm.
Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Tepnel Scientific Services is a contract laboratory offering a full range of outsourcing services, including regulatory solutions, for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare industries.
