Millipore took the opportunity to announce the availability of the new Milli-Q Advantage system, which has been designed to meet the ultrapure water quality needs of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical sectors.
The production unit converts pure water to ultrapure water. Rather than purchasing separate production units, several final point-of-use polishers are available to match the required application giving the convenience of a single system.
The movable Q-POD unit provides the final purification step closest to the water dispensing point and adjusts to any glassware height and shape.
Up to three Q-POD dispensers can be used per system at different locations within 10 feet of the production unit. Flow rates vary from drop by drop to 2L/min. Users can dispense the water manually or set a pre-defined volume.
System information is displayed graphically on the Q-POD base and in eight languages on the production unit.
Additionally, the system utilises eSure Technology to identify the installed consumables and record their usage for promoting timely maintenance.
Almost all laboratories have a use for purified water, as its benefits are obvious. For one, ultrapure water avoids the risks of contamination and toxicological influence in the laboratory and increases the chance of reproducibility, with no interfering substances.
It is used in a wide variety of tasks, from dishwashers and environmental chambers, autoclave water supply, cell culture and in-vitro fertilisation.
