The lab division of German company KNF Neuberger has announced the UK release of a new 3-in-1 liquid handling device. The new product, KNFLab Tower, that was first introduced in July, is said to be able to combine both speed and efficiency in filtering, pipetting and aspirating a range of liquids.
KNF believes it has eliminated the need for separate devices for each task. The Tower works using a central vacuum unit, that can be easily attached to filtration devices via a hose with a quick release coupling. Similarly, pipetting units with sterile filters can be connected.
Liquids can be aspirated into sealed and contamination-proof two litre bottles, with the pressure being monitored by an internal vacuum gauge.
Easy regulation of the flow rate during aspiration and filtering, as well as the regulation of the suction and delivery rate at the pipetting stage, makes this product unique, says the company.
The lightweight handling device has locking castors that allows it to be rolled in the laboratory. This in turn makes the 3-in1's benefits in the laboratory threefold: efficient, quiet and portable, according to the company.
KNF Neuberger specialises in diaphragm pumps for air, gas vapour and liquids, and has also recently launched two new products, including a vacuum pump for autoclaves and mini -pumps for laboratory uses. More information is available on the company's website .
