The Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation Scheme (PIC/S) has welcomed Japan’s application for membership.
PIC/S received applications from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency. The applications come a little more than a year after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) joined PIC/S following completion of a five-year application process.
At the PIC/S meeting in South Africa last year attendees were told Japan, as well as Korea, planned to submit membership applications in 2012. The meeting also marked the acceptance of the 40th PIC/S participating authority, Slovenia, and the organisation aims to continue growing its membership.
