The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published a list of all the drug manufacturing facilities it has inspected between October 2008 and September 2010 as part of Government transparency efforts.

The fully searchable database lists company name, global location as well as inspection date and classifies results according to the conclusion the agency inspectors reached

The FDA said the aim is to provide information about company practices that may jeopardize public health, as well as about companies that have had satisfactory FDA inspections.

Spokeswoman Tamara Ward told Bloomberg the list will be updated each fiscal year and add that the agency will also start sharing more letters warning companies of illegal product promotions within the next six to nine months.
