American Reagent to resume production at NY plant

American Reagent is to resume production at its New York, US plant after investigating cases of glass delamination.

Detection of particles linked to glass delamination, an increasingly high-profile problem, prompted American Reagent to perform a number of voluntary recalls and suspend production at its Shirley, NY plant.

Shipment of some products has now resumed and American Reagent is working with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure critically needed medicines are available. Production of Venofer (iron sucrose injection, USP) is due to resume on May 16.
