New spare parts ordering platform is more efficient and user-friendly, Bosch
The updated online ordering system E-Portal is more customised than the previous version, in addition machine-specific spare parts data are more readily available, said the supplier.
“Increasing competition in the market leads to daily cost and time pressures for manufacturers to ensure they maintain profits,” said Ray Nungesser, sales manager at Bosch Packaging Services in the US.
“The E-Portal helps manufacturers optimise their spare parts planning and reduce planned downtime of the packaging machines during production and maintenance. It also eliminates time-consuming searches for spare parts and improves the ordering process,” he said.
Platform updates
With the new E-Portal, up-to-date information on availability, price and delivery is available at any time, to enable reliable planning of production processes, claimed the supplier.
Another benefit of the updated system is the option to view all orders and quotes from the last 24 months, a spokesperson for Bosch told FoodProductionDaily.com.
This increases transparency during the ordering process and speeds decision making, she added.
The spare parts ordering process has also been made easier, Bosch claims.
“Packaging machines can be maintained in a timely manner and downtime minimised,” said the firm.
The integrated product search function with predefined options allows the required spare parts to be found “quickly and easily” including all product details, Bosch explained.
The platform also has more personal product searches, said the spokesperson.
This enables manufacturers to save and manage specified search criteria at all times, contributing to optimised process efficiency, plus time and cost savings.
Launching at US trade show Pack Expo next month, the system can be used in all of the packaging industries served by Bosch, such as food and pharmaceuticals.
