UK group RSSL has launched a Responsible Persons (RP) programme to help meet growing demand for EC directive 2001/83/EC trained staff.

As the pharma supply chain continues to expand, the task of “policing” to maintain product quality and combat counterfeits is becoming increasingly difficult.

As a result, adherence to good distribution practice (GDP), which is primarily overseen by RPs, has become of paramount importance, increasing industry demand for qualified staff.

Reading Scientific Services (RSSL) said that the new training course will ensure that all RPs have the necessary knowledge and theory to implement and oversee EU Guidelines.

RSSL added that the programme “will follow the format and detail that has already run very successfully in Ireland for the last two years in keeping with the EU and Irish Medicines Board expectations.”
