Upcoming geographies

With a number of markets moving up in the pharma and biopharma stakes, this year the organisers have created pavilions dedicated to the most promising regions. Emerging industries such as Argentina, Brazil, Malaysia and Russia each have a section, whilst European countries taking a bigger part in pharmaceuticals - such as the UK, France and Ireland - also have a podium.

Bioavailability

Finding a way around delivery problems for large molecule pharmaceuticals, as well as tricky biologics like proteins and peptides is a key issue in the manufacturing industry at the moment. And with the amount of exhibitors focusing on solubility, delivery via the skin and getting drugs through the gastrointestinal tract (GI) and liver system, could we see a meeting of minds that could drive some new solutions at CPhI?
Getting the formulation right is important, and it seems there is a lot of emphasis is on sofgel technology at the moment. For instance Patheon is there discussing the latest developments for its P-Gel platform.
