The firm, which launched Parteck Mg DC at CPhI in Paris last week, claims it is the first pure magnesium hydroxide carbonate to make binder-free tablet product possible due to its large BET* surface area that enables the formation of stronger bonds with the active pharmaceutical ingredient in question.
Removing binders from tablets can, according to Merck, save formulators time and money as it means fewer processing and production steps are required and fewer ingredients simplify the regulatory declaration process.
