India is sending a delegation to Chile, Peru, Columbia and Venezuela to boost pharma exports to Latin America.
Export council Pharmexcil plans to spend two weeks in February meeting buyers, importers and regulators in the four countries. In 2009-10 India claims to have exported pharmaceutical products worth $139m (€107m) to the four Latin American countries, up 40 per cent on two years earlier.
Pharmexcil thinks there is potential for further growth and is seeking Indian companies to travel to the four countries next month. The push comes as India tries to increase exports to more than $25bn by 2014.
