The Urch Publishing report anticipates movement in the list of top 10 pharmaceutical companies and believes that Sanofi-Aventis and Novartis are best placed to make big deals.
Sanofi appears to have ruled itself out of this round of mega-mergers but the report claims that the three deals this year have shifted the landscape and may encourage others to buy big.
GlaxoSmithKline has also said it is looking at smaller deals but the report claims that it, as well as Eli Lilly and Takeda, is under pressure to think big to satisfy investors and compete with the newly merged companies.
