New UK biopharmaceuticals firm RCP Therapeutics has added mitochondrial targeting nanotechnology expert Volkmar Weissig to its scientific advisory board.
Weissig, who is an associate professor of pharmacology at the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, Glendale, Arizona, will help guide RCP’s sub-cellular targeting and mitochondrial medicine programme.
Commenting on the appointment, Robert Sexauer, RCP’ CEO, said that Prof Weissig “is recognised as one of the pre-eminent scientists in the realm of sub-cellular targeting and mitochondrial nanomedicine.”
