Medical Technology group Becton Dickson (BD) will build a $38m warehouse facility in Four Oaks, North Carolina, according to State Governor Bev Perdue.

The project, which is being supported by a $600,000 grant from the state government, will expand BD’s distribution network on the East coast when operational in 2012.

The company also said that it plans to hire around 187 employees to run the facility over the next two to three years.

BD’s senior vice president, integrated supply chain Stephen Sichak said: “Establishing our new distribution center in Johnston County will enable BD to reduce cycle times and enhance the operational effectiveness.”
