Baxa releases new Adapta Cap bottle adapter
to fit sterile water bottles, which provide drip-free filling of
Exacta-Med Oral Dispensers simplifying weight specific dosing and
oral liquid medications.
The new product eases the flushing of enteral feeding lines and ensures total compliance of the oral dispensers and accessories to non-luer fittings for oral and enteral applications. This prevents the incidence of wrong route administration of non-IV fluid drugs.
Designed to ensure dose accuracy while preventing med errors and wrong-route administration of IV drugs, oral dispensers and accessories are recommended by the Institute for Safe Medication Practice (ISMP) for use in oral and enteral fluid drug delivery.
Baxa also provides specialty dispensers for safe topical and vaginal medication delivery, and its Kwik-Vail Unit Dose Containers and accessories provide stability for liquid drug storage and delivery.
"The Adapta-Cap Bottle Adapter complements the Exacta-Med Oral Dispenser. They make the filling process easier and facilitate unit dosing of oral liquids," said Mark Thrasher, product manager for Baxa.
The original Adapta-Cap Bottle Adapter, with its tethered reclosable cap, converts a standard prescription bottle into a filling device for use with the Exacta-Med Oral Dispensers.
Exacta-Med Dispensers are the only product on the market that feature multiple packaging configurations and a full line of complementary accessories such as Adapta-Cap Bottle Adapters, tamper-indicating tools, specialty labels and filling adapters.
The dispensers have proved invaluable for occasions where delivering medication can be difficult. An example is paediatric oral medication, where teaspoons and medicine cups can be pushed away or spilled.
